Can this PVC medallion easily be cut, then glued back after passing over the 1/4-inch wire holding the 5" metal canopy of our hanging light? Is it flexible and thin enough to do that? I will have to also cut out 2 small v-shapes for the bolts which are 3-3/4" apart.

These can be cut however, it isn't recommended. These medallions are "Thermoformed" PVC so the material is light weight and thin. That means there isn't very much material to help you eliminate the seam. These medallions work best if you remove the fixture, install the medallion and then reinstall the fixture. If you cannot remove the fixture, I would recommend that you consider our Polyurethane medallions instead. They are a high density foam and can be treated like wood when it comes to modifying and installing them.
