Distributors and dealers can fulfill stain-grade orders on the same timeline as commodity paint-grade product, without the special order lead times or minimum order requirements that other sources require.

All nine stain-grade species in the Americraft line are milled from FAS Grade hardwood, the highest grading classification available in domestic lumber. FAS Grade material produces clean, consistent faces with minimal knots or defect, which is the baseline requirement for any moulding that will receive a clear or semi-transparent stain finish. The available species cover the full range of what residential and commercial specifiers request: alder, knotty alder, cherry, maple, pine, poplar, red oak, sapele mahogany, walnut, and white oak. Primed finger-joint pine is milled to Select Grade and is available across the same WM profile library for projects where a painted finish is specified.

MiterLink Corner System for Crown Moulding

Crown moulding profiles in the Americraft line are available with MiterLink corners, a factory-engineered corner system that addresses one of the most significant challenges in wood moulding installation. Unlike urethane, wood moulding offers no margin for error at the corners. A slightly off miter cut cannot be caulked and painted over; it is visible in the finished installation. MiterLink corners eliminate that risk entirely by concealing the cut behind a 1-inch overlap, so minor variation in the moulding length does not affect the finished appearance at the corner.

Installation requires only construction adhesive and brad nails. The moulding piece tucks behind the overlap and is pressed and fastened into place, with no job-site mitering required at inside or outside corners. The result is a finished wood crown installation that does not require the precision cutting skill that traditional wood installation demands. That dramatically broadens the installer base for a product category that has historically been considered high-skill work, and it reduces the callbacks and remeasure costs associated with miter errors on natural wood.

Paint-Grade Options and Species Availability

For projects where a painted finish is specified, Americraft hardwood moulding is available in Select Grade primed finger-joint pine across the same WM profile library. Primed finger-joint pine arrives ready for topcoat, reducing job-site prep time. It carries the same profile dimensions as the FAS Grade stain-grade species, so contractors can mix finish types across a project without profile mismatches.

Installation Requirements for Wood Crown Moulding

Americraft hardwood moulding installs using standard woodworking tools and materials. Required tools include a nail gun, miter box and mitering saw, and standard finishing materials. Construction adhesive is applied in a continuous bead along the top and back of each moulding length before pressing into place and securing with finishing nails. Moulding should be painted or finished before installation, with touch-up applied after. Placing moulding in the installation space two to three days prior to installation allows the material to acclimate to room temperature and humidity, reducing the risk of movement after installation.
